To Sleep #poetry

Worlds that never should have collided came together. The hot and heavy sweat. The drips of paint down her thigh. Pink and blue on a soft olive pallet of skin. She drank from her tea cup and tasted the cloves of her garden.

Naked, she sat at her window looking down on the sidewalk. A place full of life yet no one was walking. Footsteps of the millions from centuries of feet go unseen. No mark on the ground to prove the existence of man. No strand of hair to mark the brushes of a woman.

She wondered what life would be like outside of this bubble. She sat and wondered all day. And then lay down her tired head to sleep.
