Living the #GoodLife

I wanted to do a post on self-care tonight. I went to the gym and cared for my physical health and fitness, I feel great. It’s funny because I spent time reading through the information I’ve been receiving at a program I’m in and one of them had a list of the 8 Primary emotions. They are as follows:

  1. Anger
  2. Sorrow
  3. Joy
  4. Fear
  5. Disgust
  6. Guilt/Shame
  7. Interest
  8. Surprise

I found it ironic that the article spoke of secondary emotions (meaning emotions that are paired together) since I shared on Instagram the image of my finished coloring a page in my adult coloring book. I took Understanding Color in University and we learned all about primary and secondary colors, colors of animals (I did a report on why some birds are colored and others aren’t, usually for survival purposes). And I learned about how light creates color. All that knowledge resulted in the below picture (because I don’t think I’m ever going to REALLY need this information in the life I lead and plan to lead).

Both topics deal with the words primary and secondary. So what I want you to do tonight is define what your primary goals are in life and your secondary (secondary being goals that can wait). Then think about which primary emotion you are feeling as you create your goals. This will help you decipher which are most important to you so you can stop looking at the who, what, where and when and get right down to the how!
